Top line-up in the Prix d`Ispahan

Longchamp, Monday, 29 May: Nine races will be decided today at the posh Parisian track in Longchamp. The Prix d`Ispahan (5th race/16.25 h/250,000 Euro/1850 m) takes centre stage and appeals to seven horses.

A new duel is brewing between Anmaat (Jim Crowley) and Junko (Maxime Guyon), who won the Prix Dollar (Group 2) here. For the Owen Burrows-trained five-year-old, the Gordon Richard Stakes (Group 3) was the most recent target. He finished a good second, while Junko ran in the Dubai Turf (Group 1) this year and did not finish higher than sixth. Erevann (Cristian Demuro) was a convincing winner in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein (Group 2) ahead of Facteur Cheval (Gerald Mosse), who recently turned the tables in the Prix du Muguet (Group 2) to finish second ahead of the Rouget protégé. Buckaroo (Oisin Murphy) showed a fighting spirit at Leopardstown in April. Light Infantry (Jamie Spencer) is well remembered when second to Erevann at Deauville. Onesto (Frankie Dettori) had his last successful experience here in the Grand Prix de Paris (Group 1).

Only five horses will compete in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (7th race/17.35 h/130,000 Euro/3100 m). The new edition of the Prix de Barbeville (Group 3) is eagerly awaited. Big Call (Stephane Pasquier) defeated The Good Man (Morgan Delalande) safely, behind him Sober (Maxime Guyon) disappointed, who had won before like Almacado Gree (Tony Piccone), in Chantilly. Or Gris (Alexis Pouchin) announced himself as fourth in the Prix d`Hedouville (Group 3).
