Derby Trial the Top Test at Iffezheim

Baden-Baden, Saturday, 20 May: Best sport also on Saturday, day two of the Spring Meeting in Baden-Baden. Because with the Japan Racing Association - Derby-Trial (Group III, 55,000 Euro, 2,000 m) an important test for the Blue Ribbon in Iffezheim will be held.

Fantastic Moon (R. Piechulek) certainly stands out in the field of eight candidates. His first start of the season was good, as third place in the Bavarian Classic was quite respectable. Of course, his success in the Prize of the Winter Favourite is still fresh in his memory. Last year`s auction race hit was strong here by Vintage Moon (S. Byrne). Straight (E. Pedroza) should also be a horse with perspective.

Eight races are scheduled between 1.30pm and 5.35pm, including several more tests of directional importance. In the Tattersalls Diana Trial (Listed race, 25,000 Euros, 1,800 m), the focus will be on the Prize of Diana. Andre Fabre`s Philaminte (B. Murzabayev) should enjoy a lot of confidence. Evina (M. Seidl) and Empathie (A. Starke) are just two more of the promising candidates.

And the Baden Youth Prize (10,000 euros, 1,000 m) is the first race for the 2021 crop. Three Havanas (L. Delozier) is sure to finish right up front.

Top handicappers will compete in the 2,000 m Equalizer I. The ex-Group winner Only the Brave (L. Delozier) ran promisingly in France.

Of course, the bettors also get their money`s worth. 30,000 euros (with a jackpot of 5,000 euros) stand over the four-horse bet of the 4th race (Equalisation III, 1,400 metres). 10,000 euros will be played out in the 8th race (Equalisation II, 2,400 m).
