Broome grants revenge

York, Friday 19 May: On the final day of the Dante Festival at York, the Yorkshire Cup (4th race/16.35/170,000 pounds/2787m) is in focus. Broome (Ryan Moore) from Aidan O`Brien`s quarters, Charlie Appleby`s Siskany (William Buick) and the Hughie Morrison-trained Quickthorn (Oisin Murphy) are three promising contenders. They were last in action at Meydan in the Dubai Gold Cup (Group 2). The former two settled the win between them while Quickthorn, who won the Lonsdale Cup (Group 1) here in high style, finished sixth ahead of Sisfahan. Siskany is well known to the German public from Munich, where he finished third in the Bavarian Grand Prix (Group 1). Eldar Eldarov (David Egan) will have a large following as the winner of the Queen`s Vase (Group 2) and the English St Leger (Group 1) against Giavellotto (Andrea Atzeni). Tashkhan (Ben Robinson) is an excellent stayer and should be counted on for the surprise.
