Crowning finale of the spring meeting

Baden-Baden, Sunday, 21 May: The third day of the Spring Meeting in Baden-Baden will once again be a very special day of celebration for the turf on Sunday. Because in the Grand Prix of the Badische Wirtschaft (Group II, 70,000 Euros, 2,200 m) the Grand Prix greats are in demand.

The freshest reference is brought by Assistent (L. Delozier) as winner of the Carl Jaspers Prize from Cologne. Mendocino (R. Piechulek) was victorious here in the Baden Grand Prix. Sammarco (A. de Vries) triumphed in the Derby. Northern Ruler (B. Murzabayev) and Best of Lips (A. Madamet) could be among the front runners if one of the trio of favourites fails.

The rest of the programme of the eleven races between 11:20 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. also has a lot to offer. Races 1 to 5 will also be broadcast to France. Short-distance specialists have their sights set on the Casino Baden-Baden Silver Whip (Listed race, 25,000 Euros, 1,200 m). Trainer Andreas Wöhler is hoping for Waldersee (J. Bojko). Last year`s winner from Sweden, Good Eye (A. Starke) will also travel to Iffezheim again.

It is offered in races 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11. 40,000 Euros can be won in the four-horse bet of race 6 (Equalisation IV, 2,000 m), including a jackpot of 6,856.39 Euros.
