Smrczek duo in the Prix de la Crau

Cagnes-sur-Mer, Wednesday, 25 January: Eight flat races are on the programme today on the Riviera. In the Prix de la Crau (4th race/13.25 h/26.000 Euro/1300 m) Sascha Smrczek attacks twice.

Zerostress (Marie Velon) has been briefly suspended after his disappointing run in a Quinté handicap. In November, the Areion son took two honours, making him a co-favourite this time. Clever Candy (Ambre Molins) won a €50,000 handicap at Longchamp last year and also ran to a very good fourth place on the Fibersand track at Chantilly. At the same place on 23 December, it was only enough for seventh place behind Amedras (Eddy Hardouin), for whom other smaller placings last year speak. Wonder Boy (Leo Roussel) came in third only six days ago and is on the verge of winning. Blu Metal Jacket (Cristian Demuro) won a yearling handicap easily on the same day. Elusive Foot (Antoni Orani) finished second here a year ago ahead of Marianafoot, a multiple Group winner in France.
