Honeysuckle conqueror in the Galmoy Hurdle

Gowran Park, Thursday, 26 January: Seven steeplechase races are on the programme at Gowran Park today. Over hurdles is the Group 2 Galmoy Hurdle (3rd race/15.15/37,500 Euro/4828m), in which six horses will compete.

Teahupoo (Davy Russell) will not be able to avoid being the favourite, as the six-year-old is not only the winner of the Hatton`s Grace Hurdle (Group 1), he also defeated Honeysuckle at Fairyhouse, which was her first defeat after 16 consecutive victories. Longhouse Poet (J. Slevin) has also been successful this season. The Brassil protégé won easily in Limerick after running faultily in Punchestown. Beacon Edge (B. Cooper) acts very inconsistently and has no current recommendation, but the Group 1 winner is one to keep an eye on. The same goes for Summerville Boy (Rachael Blackmore). If the Relkeel Hurdle winner remembers earlier times, he is conceivable far in front. Early Doors (Simon Torrens) and My Design (Kieren Buckley) are dependent on the failure of the Meant.
