Burmese Ruby for the Westerberg Stables in Deauville

Deauville, Tuesday, 22 November: Varied sport is on offer today at the Fibersand track in Deauville. The Prix de la Pigeonniere (2nd race/14.20 h/22,000 Euro/1300 m) appeals to three-year-old winless mares and stallions/geldings. Kamala (Gerald Mosse), who runs for the colours of Michael Motschmann and is trained by Stephan Cerulis, does not meet it easily at the fourth attempt and a fifth place as the best yield. The chances are better for Noce d`Or (Clement Lecoeuvre), trained by Andreas Schütz. In his most recent appearance in the `Classe 1`, he was only narrowly beaten for third place. The way to victory leads through Mashaaer (Mickael Barzalona) from England, who has been tried and tested on sand, from Henry Spiller`s quarters.

In the two-year-old Prix Hernando (4th race/15.25 h/34,000 Euro/1500 m), another triumph of Burmese Ruby (Mickael Barzalona), owned by the Westerberg stable, is on the horizon. In Deauville, the mare won against Wonderfull Lady, who later achieved small placings at List and Group level. No less strong is Cambronne (Theo Bachelot), who showed a clear improvement at list level in Marseille and only narrowly lost the place of honour. For Grey Tornado (Maxime Guyon), who won here, a place in the front is also reserved.
