Mares in La Coupe de Marseille

Marseille-Borely, Thursday, 15 September: The La Coupe de Marseille (3rd race/12.15 pm/55,000 Euro/2000 m/List race), featuring three-year-old fillies, is the top event of the eight-race event in Marseille today.

Blue Wings (Anthony Crastus), who has already run in the Prix Saint-Alary (Group 1) this year and was completely beaten in the end after a long lead, finds a comparatively easy task and should win. In a similar fixture in Vichy, the Cottier mare finished third ahead of Save Your Breath (Valentin Seguy), Enola (Marvin Grandin) and Pennine Hills (Antonio Orani) and behind Perle Rouge (Guillaume Millet). The latter then ran in the Prix de la Nonette (Group 2) and did extremely well in the midfield, just beaten by a better placing. Here she won a `Classe 1` surprisingly against Enola, who showed up at the same place in April. Long Ridge Road (Jean-Bernard Eyquem) has not been at the expiry since her List placing in the Derby du Langeudoc, but is expected back in top form. Bon Appetit (Pierre Bazire) and Kintana Blue (Simon Planque) are not without possibilities.
