Interesting list race at Sandown

Sandown, Wednesday 14 September: Seven races will be run at Sandown Park today, including the Fortune Stakes (4th race/16.35pm/52,000 pounds/1610m), a Listed race for three-year-olds and older. The successful team around jockey Frankie Dettori and trainer John/Thady Gosden saddled Magical Morning, a promising contender.

The five-year-old has mainly been successful in high handicaps this year, but did not finish higher than fifth on the List level. Escobar (William Buick), who recently finished third in the Celebration Mile (Group 2), could be the main contender for the win and has every chance based on this performance. Sinjaari (David Probert) also currently ran Group-placed in the Sovereign Stakes and here the six-year-old won a handicap in July. Bayside Boy (William Buick) sold well in the Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3) when Rocchigiani won to finish fourth and he did no wrong in the St James` Palace Stakes (Group 1) in midfield. Auria (Rob Hornby) has not yet had an ideal season. Last year`s win on this course and today`s level speaks for her. Sweet Believer (Stevie Donohoe) makes his seasonal debut and is preferable to the rest.
