Four-year-olds under saddle

Paris-Vincennes, Friday, 2 September: The 2018-born I-year olds will compete today in two Group 2 races under saddle, separated by sex.

The mares are under order in the Prix Emile Riotteau (2nd race/19.30/120,000 euros/2700m). Intuition (Adrien Lamy) had her big day in the Prix du President de la Republique (Group 1), winning the classic highly superior to Ines des Rioults (Florian Desmigneux), who was as unchallenged in second as the favoured Ideale du Chêne (Paul Philippe Ploquin) in fourth. Her recent failure in front of the sulky in the Prix Paul Leguerney (Group 2) should not matter. Ines des Rioults and Ideale du Chene`s top result in the Prix Henri Balliere (Group 2) in Caen, where they were among themselves, speaks for them. Ivanovska (Alexandre Abrivard) pleases with her victory in a `C` test ahead of Iliade Mesloise (Guillaume Martin) and Irina de Bailly (Mathieu Mottier). Italia Solo (Eric Raffin) has to be considered with her strong rider.

There is a meagre turnout of stallions in the Prix Camille de Wazieres (5th race/21.11pm/120,000 euros/2700m), but none really stands out among the six entrants. Ibra du Loisir (Yoann Lebourgeois) could have the better end of the Prix d`Essai (Group 1) win over Ici C`Est Pairs (Francois Lagadeuc) and Indigo du Poret (Eric Raffin) once again, but the Allaire protégé in particular has fought other battles and will not leave the field to the Abrivard protégé without a fight. Indigo du Poret won the Prix Louis Le Bourg (Group 2) against Ici C`Est Paris and Integre (Mathieu Mottier) at the Winter Meeting this year. Iron Meslois (Guillaume Martin) runs his best races under saddle, he cannot be measured by his sulky form. Inshore (Alexandre Abrivard) competes in an unusually high class.
