Listed and Group Races in Longchamp

Longchamp, Thursday, 1 September: Today`s racing day in Longchamp kicks off with the Prix de Liancourt (1st race/15.52 h/55,000 Euro/2100 m), which is part of the Listed class. Jean-Pierre Carvalho tries to get Mythicara (Eddy Hardouin) back on track after her luckless performance in the German Oaks (Group 1). Miroslav Rulec will saddle Blue Dazzled (Cyrille Stefan), who won at her debut. Ondulee (Maxime Guyon) and Dannsa Flora (Gerald Mosse), who are fighting for victory in Deauville, have to be beaten.

The following Prix d`Arenberg (2nd race/16.27 h/80,000 Euro/1000 m), which belongs to Group 3, appeals to two-year-old horses. Numerous promising candidates will be competing from England and Ireland. Rocket Rodney (Daniel Muscutt), who has a place in the List of Honour, is just as highly traded as Kerindia (Christophe Soumillon) and Lady Hollywood (Mickael Barzalona), who were unplaced in the Lowther Stakes (Group 2). Trainer Tim Donworth counts Ocean Vision (Theo Bachelot) and Kokachin (Cristian Demuro), who ran strongly in Deauville, among the closest favourites. The former won at List level and behind him Vicious Harry (Tony Piccone) and Exxtra (Ronan Thomas) sold themselves dear.

The Prix de Lutece (7th race/19.25 h/80,000 Euro/3000 m) leads over the staying distance. Marianachic (Christophe Soumillon), who has an impressive winning streak, is once again the horse to beat. Galashiels (Mickael Barzalona), who recently won in Clairefontaine at List level against Master Gatsby (Ioritz Mendizabal), is in the running. The latter finished fourth in the Prix du Lys (Group 3) behind Virtual Rock (Pierre Bazire), who was second. Fasol (Maxime Guyon) and Wakaburn (Aurelien Lemaitre) are other in-form participants with good chances.
