Manjeer with chances in the Prix de la Porte Maillot

Longchamp, Thursday, 30 June: The Prix de la Porte Maillot (5th race/19.34 h/80,000 Euro/1400 m), which belongs to Group 3, is run over a short 1400 metres in Longchamp today. German hopes rest on Namos (Vladimir Panov), trained by Dominik Moser for Petra Stucke, but after his poor performance in his seasonal debut in the Prix Servanne (Listed race), the six-year-old is considered to have only little chance. The situation is completely different for Manjeer (Eddy Hardouin), whom Carina Fey trains for Natalie Steinmann. In that match, the gelding finished second ahead of the Moser protégé and Marianafoot (Mickael Barzalona). The latter marked one of his most valuable scores last year by winning the Prix Maurice de Gheest (Group 1). Currently, he finished a good second in the Prix du Palais-Royal (Group 3). Wooturn (Maxime Guyon) and Spanish Intent (Clement Lecoeuvre) know only good performances and should be able to build on their top placings achieved here in May at List level. Breizh Eagle (Olivier Peslier) made his debut in Nantes in appealing style despite losing. Amedras (Stephane Pasquier) has already won two Quinté handicaps this year. Amilcar (Christophe Soumillon) was the Grand Handicap winner here more than a year ago.
