Fabre with strong quartet in Prix de Diane

Chantilly, Sunday, 19 June: 18 mares are under order today in the prestigious Prix de Diane (5th race/16.00/1 million Euro/2100 m). Four horses will be saddled by Andre Fabre, who won the race for the last time eleven years ago with Gestüt Ammerland`s Golden Lilac.

Agave (Oliver Peslier) and Place du Carrousel (Mickael Barzalona), runners-up in the Prix Greffulhe (Group 2) and Prix Saint Alary (Group 1) respectively, should be the strongest weapons, but Zellie (Tom Marquand), who finished fourth in the English 1000 Guineas (Group 1), and Babala (Maxime Guyon) are also thought to have chances. Nashwa (Hollie Doyle), from the Gosden quarters, drew off well in the Epsom Derby when third against the Stallions. Nadette (Theo Bachelot) defeated Yukata (Cristian Demuro) at List level, both are expected to improve. Times Square (Stephane Pasquier), Rosacea (Christophe Soumillon) and Daisy Maisy (Gregory Benoist) all made their mark in French 1000 Guineas behind the top two. Toy (Ryan Moore) had no opportunities in that match, but Aidan O`Brien is always to be counted on for a top finish.
