Usain Lobell to open against Cresus di Poggio.

Paris-Vincennes, Friday 27 May: It`s full sail today at Vincennes, where the evening card begins with the two main races. In the introductory Prix Caecilia (1st race/18.58/70,000 Euro/2700m), the Paul Hagoort-trained Usain Lobell (Robin Bakker) faces 15 rivals. The four-year-old, who was considered unbeatable in the Derby but was eliminated early due to a mistake, currently won the preliminary race for the Konung Gustav Pokal in Solvalla, but had no real chance in the final. The task will not be easy again, because Cresus di Poggio (Jean-Michel Bazire) is an opponent of calibre. Four wins in a row speak for the Bazire protégé. Most recently, he won an `A` race here against, among others, If I Tell You (Gabriele Gelormini), Iron Meslois (Pierre Belloche), Caio Titus Bond (Mathieu Mottier), Cocis Mp (Christophe Martens) and Imagine Darling (Etienne Dubois), who were clearly behind.

In the subsequent Prix du Crepuscule (2nd race/19.33 h/90,000 Euro/2100 m), the path to victory also leads through the Bazire stable. The champion himself steers Elie de Beaufour, who should be back to his old self after two strokes. Rebella Matters (Christophe Martens) and Feydeau Seven (Nicolas Bazire), who last finished ahead of the eight-year-old, are second choice this time. The biggest danger comes from Ampia Mede Sm (Franck Nivard), who recently disappointed in the Prix des Ducs de Normandie (Group 2) when finishing sixth behind Elvis deu Vallon (David Thomain), among others, but has already been able to put today`s opponents in their place several times.
