Three preliminary heats for the Sweden Cup

Solvalla, Saturday, 28 May: The Elitloppet meeting on the oval in Solvalla today is dominated by the Sweden Cup, with three heats to determine the top three finishers in each race for the final.

In the first elimination (1st race/12.45/208.000 SKr./1640 m) Lucifer Lane (Johan Nilsson), currently victorious in Mantorp, is expected to win, but Zaccaria Bar (Alessandro Gocciadoro) also has first chances after his Paris triumph. Officer Stephen (Dion Tesselaar) underlined his strong form in the Gelsenkirchen Bild Cup and, like last year`s fifth-placed Elitloppet preliminary, Milliondollarrhyme (Ulf Ohlsson) should not be missing from any consideration. Seismic Wave (Björn Goop) and Disco Volante (Örjan Kihlström) are conceivable in strong hands in the front race at any time.

The second preliminary race (2nd race/13.15/208.000 SKr./1640 m) could be an affair for Diamond (Björn Goop), who is still winless this year but still in good form, although Chapuy (Ake Lindblom) has also attracted attention with plenty of good placings this year. Racing Mange (Joakim Lövgren) and Bill`s Man (Erik Adielsson) are two fresh winners with chances of a podium finish. Bepi Bi (Alessandro Gocciadoro) in the hands of the Italian top trainer, Jason`s Camden (Olli Koivunen) and Dwayne Zet (Magnus Djuse) complete the seven-strong field.

The last final tickets will be distributed in `Försök 3` (3rd race/13.45 hrs/208,000 SKr./1640 m). Usain Töll (Christoffer Eriksson) and Vitruvio (Alessandro Gocciadoro) ran well enough in fourth and fifth in the Copenhagen Cup (Group 1) to decide the victory among themselves here. From The Mine (Mats Djuse) has the form of his life and appears to be just as fit for the final as Floris Baldwin (Erik Adielsson), who is the same age. Global Withdrawl (Santtu Raitala) and Beartime (Carl Jepson) have the advantage due to their favourable starting numbers. Upper Face (Adrian Kolgjini) can be wide on a good day.

The Harper Hanovers Lopp (12th race/18.10/2,030,000 SKr./3140 m) has the highest value. The stayer race will be started from the ribbons as usual. Diable de Vauvert (Gabriele Gelormini), who was successful in the Prix de Paris (Group 1), should also cope with the maximum allowance. Moni Viking (Björn Goop), second in Stayerlopp of Örebro, he won the Harper Hanovers Lopp two years ago in world record time, and Digital Dominance (Mats Djuse), Selected News (Magnus Djuse) and Fenix Brick (Claes Sjöström), who came in behind, as well as Piemonte (Joakim Lövgren), running for German interests, will not make it easy for the Frenchman.
