Waldstar and Parol in Saint-Cloud

Saint-Cloud, Tuesday, 5 April: Today`s eight-race event in Saint-Cloud has plenty of treats in store. In the three-year-old comparison Prix Tourbillon (3rd race/15.00 h/35,000 Euro/2100 m), Waldstar (Mickael Barzalona), trained by Andre Fabre for Gestüt Fährhof/Gestüt Ammerland, will make his seasonal debut.

The Sea-The-Stars son already won last year. His schedule includes the French Derby. His main opponents include Tyrolo (Cristian Demuro), who won twice on the Riviera this year, and Sabio Cen (Aurelien Lemaitre), who had already defeated Waldstar in Fontainebleau. Orange Vif (Tony Piccone) has plenty of stamina and could provide the surprise.

The Prix Canot (7th race/17.20/28,000 Euro/2000 m) is the target of Bohumil Nedorostek`s Parol (Christophe Soumillon). The three-time Dortmund sand track winner and winner of another dirt fixture at Chantilly will be tested by Andre Fabres Kertez (Maxime Guyon), who has a fresh track win to his name from March 10. Hayzum (Gregory Benoist) has already been seen in the Grand Prix de Paris (Group 1) when taking the honours from In Swoop. In his second appearance after a long break, he could be further along this time.
