Jump Final in Sandown

Sandown, Saturday 23 April: The Jump Final at Sandown offers great steeplechase racing once again today. The Celebration Chase (3rd race/16.00/160,000 pounds/3126m) stands out as a Group 1 race over the chase jumps.

Last year`s winner Greaneteen (Harry Cobden) later won the Tingle Creek Chase (Group 1) at the same venue, but did not finish beyond last in the Dublin Chase (Group 1) on his last appearance after unfortunate running. Nuba Negra (Harry Skelton) was seen here behind Greaneteen in December, but in the Queen Mother Champion Chase (Group 1) a year ago the Skelton protégé had the better of the defending champion in the battle for second. Sceau Royal (Daryl Jacob) recently underlined his good form by finishing third in the Marsh Chase (Group 1). Rouge Vif (Lorcan Williams) repeatedly flushed money into the stable coffers but had nothing to do with the closer decision. Sky Pirate (Jonjo O`Neill jr.) can only benefit from the failure of the Mean.
