Georgica Gede the horse to beat

Paris-Vincennes, Tuesday 19 April: Older saddle trotters who have not won €575,000 will be the target of today`s Group 3 Prix Cornelia (3rd race/5.37pm/€90,000/2850m) in Paris-Vincennes.

The `poorest` participant in the eight-strong field is Georgica Gede (Mathieu Mottier), trained by Alexandre Pillon. Judging by her last place of honour in the Prix des Centaures (Group 1), the six-year-old has first chances. Dimo d`Occagnes (Paul Philippe Ploquin), whose most recent triumph in the Prix Vivier de Montfort (Course A) over Edition Gema (Gaelle Godard) was the most valuable in his career so far, is hardly rated worse. Before that, he lost to Egao Jenilou (Eric Raffin) in the Prix de Lisieux (Course B), who lost the battle for second place to Diamant de Larre (Charlene Callico) at Group 3 level in November. Carioca de Lou (Alexandre Abrivard) made four unsuccessful appearances in front of the sulky this year. About ten months ago, he took a good place of honour in this métier.
