Gran Geste can win

Le Croise-Laroche, Wednesday, 23 March: The Hippodrome de Marcq en Baroeuil in Le Croise-Laroche is the venue for eight interesting tests today. Among the races with German participation is the concluding Prix de Saint-Andre (8th race/20.15 h/15,000 Euro/2500 m).

Waldemar Hickst will saddle Gran Geste (Eddy Hardouin), who is competing for the first time this year. The Lord-of-England son, owned by Guido Schmitt, finished last season one category higher with a fifth place. The gelding celebrated his last victory in May in Chantilly. One of his opponents is the little-tried but reliable betting horse Theoreme (Clement Lecoeuvre). Smart Cookie (Hugo Boutin) embodied better class and stands favourably in the lot with his permission rider. Mirasch (Maryline Eon), who took a longer break and triumphed in Saint-Cloud just under a year ago, is also among the meant. After a year, You Rock (Tony Piccone) is back in the race. The five-year-old has seen other opponents and could beat all of them if well prepared. Imperial Beauty (Aurelien Lemaitre) seems a tad stronger than Marina Gamba (Lorette Gallo) and First Conde (Christophe Dehens).
