Dato against strong competition

Saint-Cloud, Thursday, March 24: With a Listed race and seven other high-class tests, the track in Saint-Cloud is in focus today.

The Prix de la Porte de Madrid (6th race/16:45/52,000 euros/2400 m) will be contested by seven horses. Among them is Dato (Alexis Pouchin), trained by Sascha Smrczek for the Grafenberg stable. At his last start of the season in Nantes, the six-year-old won the 14th leg of the Défi du Galop race series (Listed race). Before that, he took a strong place of honor at Group 3 level in Baden-Baden. The Smrczek protégé`s fiercest rival is likely to be Mutabahi (Olivier Peslier), who has already performed well on the Riviera this year. In the Prix du Grand Camp (list race), the Pantall stallion finished second ahead of Narcos (Mickael Forest). The latter surprised in the Grand Prix du Departement (list race) as third. Brokeback Mountain (Gregory Benoist) came back from a short break to finish second on the sand track at Chantilly. The Good Man (Theo Bachelot) and Timour (Mickael Barzalona) ended last season with two placings at an upper level.
