Newmarket Cambrigeshire meeting: day three

the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes for 2yo fillies at 16.10 CET is the top race today and is always won by a star performer. Tiggy Wiggy (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes) could play that part today, she is currently rated the best 2yo in Europe and was particularly impressive when winning at York last time. She is very fast and the six furlongs at this track are probably her limit, but she could still be strong enough to hold off the strong challengers from Ireland, Anthem Alexander (Eddie Lynam/ Pat Smullen) and from France High Celebrity (André Fabre/ Maxime Guyon). Tendu (John Gosden/ James Doyle) looks the best of the other Brits in the race.
The big betting race is the Cambridgeshire at 16.50, a 9 furlongs handicap worth more than most German Group One races, and even with a non-runner there are still 34 (!!) going to post. This almost is impossible to solve, but yesterday´s results showed that possibly low numbers have a slight advantage, so we take last year´s winner Educate (Ismail Mohammed/ Mikael Barzalona), 2012 winner Bronze Angel (Marcus Tregoning/ Louis Steward) and Homage (William Haggas/ Paul Hanagan) against the field.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Sandy Cay - Little Lady Katie - Rosalie Bonheur
2. Race: Nafaqa - Elm Park - Medrano
3. Race: Tiggy Wiggy - Anthem Alexander - High Celebrity
