another big payday for Willie Mullins?

of the 3 N.H. meetings today, the two in the U.K. are of little interest, but there is an excellent midweek card at Gowran Park in Ireland. The main event is the Grade Two Galmoy Hurdle over 3 miles at 15.15 CET, which looks at the mercy of Zaidpour (Willie Mullins/ Ruby Walsh), who won this race in 2012 and has run numerous big races in top company. He has top weight here, but has easily the highest rating and it will be a big surprise if he is beaten. His stable companion Bishopsfurze (Paul Townend) should also be placed; we have frequently been asked about the nme of this horse, which refers to a kind of gorse (GInster), and should definitely be pronounced in the English way and not the way Germans usually say it!
It looks like another big day for the Mullins team, and they have 4 runners in the most valuable race of the crd, the Thyestes Chase, a handicap over 3 miles at 16.15 and often a good guide to the Irish hopes in the Grand Natjonal. Stable jockey Walsh rides top weight Vesper Bell but we have a slight preference for On His Own (Paul Townend), who won here in 2012 but has fallen the last twice at Aintree. Mullins himself has implied that Balnaslow (Bryan Cooper) could be his best hope at these weights, but we are not so sure. If the winner is to come from another stable, then one should consider Tarquinius, Panther Claw and Sole Witness, who took the minor placings here last year.
Mullins should also clean up on the undercard, and we expect his two runners Abbyssial (Walsh) and Noble Inn (Townend) to fight out the finish of the opening hurdle at 14.15, Dogora (Walsh) to win the beginners chase at 16.45 and Black Hercules, ridden by his son Paddy, the bumper aszt 17.17. This last race however looks a very hot affair, with 6 last time winners, and we would not want to take too short a price, as the winner here will almost certainly be one of the main Irish hopes at Cheltenham.
The betting ooportunities at Fakenham and Warwick are very loimited and with heavy rain falling, it is probably best to give the merertingsd a miss; however we would like to mention debutant Latelo (Charlie Mann/ Micky Grant) in the bumper at 17.20 at Warwick, because of his very interesting German pedigree.
