4 poor meetings today

Once again. mainly very low-level racing at this afternoon´s 3 N.H. meetings and also this evening at Wolverhampton. There are some small fields and the ground will be very testing, especially at Lingfield and Sedgefield, so punters should stick to runners proven on the ground. The best card is at Huntingdon, where a number of decernt flaz horses will be seen running over hurdles. This applies particularly to John Ferguson´s two runners, Prince Siegfried at 14.40 CET and Zuider Zee half an hour later. Denis O´Regan partners both of them, but while the former probably has only My Wigwam Or Yours (Nicky Henderson/ Tony McCoy) to beat, the German-bred Zuider Zee faces some stiff opposition in this 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle. Topweight Vulcanite (Chatlie Longsdon/ Tony McCoy), reverting to hurdles after below par performances over fences, and Broadway Buffalo (David Pipe/ Tom Scudamore), who won 5 successive races last season, both look very dangerous. Anotjher decent flat horse running here is Commitment (Neil Mulholland/ Michael Byrne) in the opening handicap hurdle; he has shown promise in his 3 starts over hurdles, could be nicely handicapped here and meets very weak opposition.

At Sedgefield the Donald McCain/ Jason ;Maguire combination loks the team to follow. Salto Chisco at 13.50, Halo Moon at 14.20, and Atlanta Falcon an hour later all have decent chances and we very interested in the prospects of Divers in the main event, a handicap chase over 21/2 miles at 16.20. Sue Smith´s runners Stagecoach Pearl (Jonathan England) and Tahiti Pearl (Ryan Mania) are the two he has to beat.We also like German-bred Lysino ( Chris Grant/ Keith Renwick) in the handicap hurdle at 16.50, he was well behind Dynamic Drive (Maurice Barnes/ Steve Mulqueen) over this CD a fortnight ago, but meets him now on 8 lbs better terms.

The Lingfield card is very uninspiring. Dan Skelton has made a good sdtart to hid Training career and his Toby Lerone (Ian Popham) can follow up last week´s easy won at Southwell at 15.00, while another last-time-out winner Somerby, a heavy ground specialist, (Richenda Ford/ Noel Fehily) can take the handicap chase at 16.30.
