Rest of Newmarket

The main supporting race is the Group Two Jockey Club Stakes over 1 1/2 miles at 16.10, but this race has cut up disappointingly and only 4 go to post. Universal (Mark Johnston( Joe Fanning) seems much improved and kept on well to win the John Porter at Newbury last time, but we hope that Frankel´s brother Noble Mission (Sir Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) , beaten two heads then, can reverse the form.

By contrast the Group Three Palace House Stakes over 5 furlongs at 15.35 has 18 runners, so luck in running will play a major role. We hope that things fall right for Sole Power Eddie Lynam/ Johnny Murtagh), who needs to be held up for a very late run. Qatar Racing has 3 runners here, and although Robert Cowell´s Spirit Quartz arguably has the best recent form, their main jockey Jamie Spencer has chosen David Barron´s Pearl Secret, and this one could be the main danger to our selection.

The listed race for 3yo´s at 18.00 looks very trricky, even with only 6 runners. Windhoek (Johnston/ Fanning) won the big sales race over this CD at the Craven Meeting, and will be a warm favourite, but we are not convinced and go for Maxentius (Peter Chapple-Hyam/ Richard Hughes), who has been running in good company and should be suited by this step up in distance.
