One Thousand Guineas at Newmarket

We fancied Dawn Approach yesterday and today we are equally strong on Top Snap (Sir Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) to win the 1000 Guineas at 16.50 CET. Favourites have a poor record in the first fillies classic, but we think that Hot Snap, unbeaten in two starts, is capable of great improvement and can give her owner, Trainer and jockey another big race success. She is no Frankel, who won the 2,000 for them two years ago, but does not need to be. The way she won the Nell Gwyn at the last meeting here, despite looking very inexperienced, was convincing, and we certainly expect her to again defeat Sky Lantern (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), runner-up then and now 3 lbs better off. The main challenge could come from Ireland in the shape of Aidan O´Brien´s two runners, the supplemented Moth (Joseph O´Brien) and Snow Queen (Ryan Moore - if he gets back from Kentucky in time) and especially Rasmeyaa (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen), the form of whose maiden win last October is working out really well. There is also a fanciefd runner from France, What a Name (Mikel Delzangles/ Christophe Lemaire) who has very solid form and was runner-up against the colts in the Lagadere at the Arc meeting last year. The unbeaten Just the Judge (Charlie Hills/ Jamie Spencer) and Hannon´s second string Maureen (Olivier Peslier) also come into the picture, but we are hoping for a home win today.
