rest of Royal Ascot (Thursday)

in our opinion, today´s Royal Ascot card is the toughest of all for punters with every race presenting a pretty puzzle. However, as we suggested yesterday, the results so far indicate that the stands side and the middle of the track are favoured and the far side (low numbers) are at a disadvantage, so we shall hope that this remains the case, despite the going being possibly softer today following morning rain.
Our selections today must be therefore treated with caution, but we hope that the American 2yo Everyday Dave (Wesley Ward/ Jeffrey Sanchez), drawn 16, can win the opening Norfolk Stakes (5 furlongs, 15.30 CET), and make Baptist (Andrew Balding/ Jimmy Fortune), Kuala Limper (David Elsworth/ Olivier Peslier) and Madawi (Clive Brittain/ Philip Robinson), drawn 29, our three against the field in a mammoth entry for the big betting race of the day, the Britannia Handicap over the straight mile for 3yo´s at 17.25.
The other 3 races are over further, so the draw will be less important. Saeed bin Suroor and Frankie Dettori, who took the big race yesterday, can win the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes for 3yo fillies at 16.05 with the German-bred Rumh, who is by Monsun. Another Monsun is Midsummer Sun (Sir Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) in the Tercentenery Stakes for 3yo´s at 18.00, but this race is a minefield with numerous unexposed and well-bred types and there is a strong Irish word out for the once-raced Marksmanship (Aidan O´Brien/ Ryan Moore). Finally there is a very competitive field for the King George V Stakes handicap for 3yo´s over 1 1/2 miles at 18.35, in which we have strong fancy for Brown Panther (Tom Dascombe/ Richard Kingscote), who has won his last two races very easily. The Shirocco colt has gone up a lot in the weights as a result but needs to go up even further to get into the field for the German Derby, which is apparently his main target.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Bapak Chinta - Crown Dependency - Everyday Dave
2. Race: Banimpire - Rumh - Dorcas Lane
3. Race: Fame And Glory - Duncan - Holberg
4. Race: Sagramor - Ektibaas - Chain Lightning
5. Race: Tazahum - Alkimos - Marksmanship
6. Race: Census - Purification - Apache
