Southwell (a.w.) and Cork (Irish N.H.)

The all-weather meeting at Southwell offers the usual low-level sport but there is one decent race, the 7 furlongs handicap at 15.15 CET. This is a very open race with11 runners and top-weight Love Delta (Mark Johnston/ Greg Fairley) the likely favourite after an easy win here on Monday. However that was over 5 furlongs, and it is not clear that he can show his best form at this trip. Imprimis Tagula (Alan Bailey/ Natasha Eaton) is very consistent and has also won over CD, while Hulcote Rose (Sylvester Kirk/ Chris Catlin) is moving up in grade after twice winning at Wolverhampton. Richard Fahey has 3 runners here and we select his Bawaadi (Jmes Sullivan), who is running for the first time at this track, but if he adapts, should go close.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Sapphire Girl - Verrazano - Robin Hoods Bay
2. Race: Majuro - Opus Maximus - Avonrose
3. Race: Olney Lass - Buzz Bird - Mr Emirati
4. Race: Love Delta - Imprimis Tagula - Ingleby Arch
5. Race: Takajan - Benato The Great - Desert Strike
6. Race: Lalika - Rosewood Lad - Dandarrell

There is a much better card at Cork with 3 graded races. The main feature is the Hilly Way Chase over 2 miles at 16.20, with several smart performers in the line-up. Willie Mullins has three runners, including Golden Silver (Paul Townend) who won this event last year. The super-consistent Osana (Edward O´Grady/ Andrew McNamara) should be placed again- he has only once been out of the money in 21 starts, and that was in the 2007 Champion Hurdle- while Zaarito (Colm Murphy/ Robbie Power) could also be a danger if he stays on his feet; he has failed to complete on 5 of his last 10 starts. The mares novice chase at 16.50 could also go to the Mullins/ Townend team with Blazing Tempo, who beat Cool Quest (Tom O´Brien/ Keith Coleman) easily enough last time and can confirm the form on 7 lbs worse terms. The stayers novice hurdle at 13.50 has a pretty poor field for a graded race; Araucaria (Jon Kiely/ McNamara) was a disappointing odds-on favourite last time over 2 miles, bu t this trip seems more suitable and she can back to winning ways.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Man Of Principles - Killary Bay - Elcanos
2. Race: Araucaria - Askanna - Down In Neworleans
3. Race: Bishopsfurze - The Bull Hayes - Four Commanders
4. Race: House Rules - An Drummer Liath - Another Cliche
5. Race: Osirixamix - Ferry Point - Fool`s Wildcat
6. Race: Letter Of Credit - Metro Star - Art Music
7. Race: Golden Silver - Osana - Scotsirish
8. Race: Blazing Tempo - Cool Quest - Back Of The Pack
