Ayr off, Plumpton and Cork on

Today´s jumps meeting at Ayr has been abandoned, but both Plumpton and Cork are on, although the latter track will stage an all-hurdling card, as the steeplechase course is unraceable (as was the case yesterday). The prospects for the next few days look slightly better, as it is thawing in England (at least the southern half) and Ireland (ditto). Officials are hopeful that tomorrow´s jumps meetings at Folkestone and Catterick will go ahead, but in Ireland Punchestown looks very doubtful. However Fairyhouse, already rescheduled 4 times with 3 Grade One races, could well be o.k. on Wednesday.
