Tuesday´s racing

Again, plenty of racing today. but all of it at low level. Indeed, every race at Hamilton and Brighton this afternoon is class 5 or 6. At the Scottish track we expect Paul Hanagan to extend his lead in the jockeys´ championship. He should win the opening 2yo maiden at 15.15 CET on Mayson for his boss Richard Fahey and follow up for the stable with Gritstone in the 9 furlongs handicap at 16.45, where German-bred Daring Dream (Jim Goldie/ Gary Bartley) is the one to beat. Hanagan also has chances on Howard Johnson´ s North Central at 15.45 and Dubawi King for Nigel Tinkler at 17.15, before rushing off to the evening meeting at Thirsk.
At Thirsk, Hanagan can also be among the winners with Ruth Carr´ s Moheebb at 20.30 and Jeremy Noseda´s High Importance an hour later. However our best bets at Thirsk are Godolphin´ s Battle of Britain (Ahmed Ajtebi) at 20.00 and recent CD winner Mey Blossom (Richard Whitaker/ Michael Stainton), who can follow up in the 5 furlongs handicap at 22.00.
The jockey to follow at Brighton should be Seb Sanders. He has two very promising rides for Sir Mark Prescott, Sumerian in the 9 furlongs maiden at 16.00 and Rock Island, top-weight in the mile handicap half an hour later, both of whom will probably start favourite. Sanders can also score on Dean Ivory´s Novastasia and Peter Makin´s Green Velvet in the sprint handicaps at 7.30 and 18.00 respectively.
There is also jumps racing this evening at Stratford, and ex-German Raptor (Mark Rimmer/ Richard Collinson) is an interesting runner in the maiden hurdle at 19.40. He makes his debut over sticks here, but on his old flat form would be the best horse in the field. The 2 1/2 mile handicap chase half an hour later is tricky, with all 8 runners holding a chance. We go for top-weight Pilgrims Lane (Milton Harris/ Peter Toole), but any of them could win.
