German runners in France today

German-trained runners are doing well on their foreign raids, and Andreas Wöhler with his stable jockey Eddie Pedroza had a Group One winner in Rome yesterday. Today they are in Paris, where their Govinda is one of 4 German runners in the 5th race, a "course B" over 1100 metres at 15.40, at Maisons-Laffitte. The others are Murcielago (Matthias Keller/ Jiri Palik), Golden Whip (Waldemar Hickst/ Dominique Boeuf) and Sapphire (Mario Hofer/ Gerald Mossé). Golden Whip, a winner at Frankfurt last time, and Govinda, runner-up in a good sales race at Bremen, clearly have the best chances of these and could both finish in the money.

Dominique Boeuf also has 3 rides for Werner Baltromei - Omasheriff in the opening 1000 metres handicap at 13.35, ansd the colt Lord Howe and the filly Königstreue in the racs for unraced 3yo´s t 14.35 nd 15.05. There is strong competition in all these events, but Omasheriff has run a couple of good races this season and could be placed. The other German runner here today is Godfreyson (Andreas Trybuhl/ Steffi Hofer) in the claiming race over 2100 metres for lady jockeys, and he could also be involved in the finish.
