Irish racing today

Two flat meetings in Ireland, with pride of place going to Navan with two listed races. The race over 1 mile 5 furlongs at 17.05 looks booked for Roses for the Lady (John Oxx/ Fran Berry), who has not been seen out since finishing second in the Irish Oaks last July. On that form she clearly holds Grace o´Malley (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) and the only danger would appear to be British raider Merchant of Dubai (Alan Swinbank/ Robert Winston), a game winner at Doncaster´s Lincoln meeting. Oxx also holds a strong hand in the listed race for 3yo fillies at 17.40, in which he has two runners, the Aga Khan´s Hazarafa (Berry) and What a Charm (Keagan Latham). On official ratings, the latter is best in at the weights, but clear preference is for the former, who won in good style on her seasonal debut and could well go on to better things.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Sampers - Empirico - Slapper
2. Race: Royal Intruder - Miss Gorica - Kristal Xenia
3. Race: Catherineofaragon - Brookley Lady - So Stylish
4. Race: Capulet Monteque - Airspace - Oscillate
5. Race: Roses For The Lady - Merchant Of Dubai - Grace O`Malley
6. Race: Hazarafa - Akdarena - What A Charm
7. Race: Minsky Mine - Changeisgonacome - Rain Forest
8. Race: His Way - Mianach - Lyle Lady

The Aga Khan and John Oxx can also strike at Gowran, where Lingapour (BA Curtis) should win the opening 3yo race over 7 furlongs at 15.15 from the penalised Baglioni (Kevin Prendergast/ Declan McDonough). The latter team have another chance with Brazilian Beauty in the maiden race for 3yo fillies at 16.55, but Aidan O´Brien´s Ice Empress (Seamus Heffernan) looks a big threat.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Baglioni - Lingapour - Flameoftheforest
2. Race: Hepburn - Great Realief - Macnas
3. Race: Is Feidir Linn - Top Spin - Hot Sand
4. Race: Brazilian Beauty - Ice Empress - Bea Remembered
5. Race: Banna Boirche - Copper Dock - Toraidhe
6. Race: Ceannline - Pittori - Dawn To Dance
7. Race: Giant Slalom - Haaf Ok - Screen Diva
8. Race: Mrs Batt - Chaparro - Metropolis
