Weather update - Hopes dashed

Hopes that jumps racing could resume today have been dashed, and both Musselburgh and Huntingdon, who were optimistic a couple of days ago, have been abandoned, as has the Irish meeting at Thurles. However the outlook for the weekend is more positive. In Ireland, Thurles hope to resume tomorrow (when they will stage Thursday´s abandoned card) and will reschedule today´s card for Monday, while Naas will also probably go ahead - though the going will be very heavy at both tracks.

Temperatures are slowly rising in the UK and a general thaw is now expected.
