all weather action today

three all-weather tracks race today and let´s hope that there are no more problems. Most of the races are pretty low standard, and easily the best performer on view is Arganil (Kevin Ryan/ Neil Callan), a genuine listed horse, who appears to have a simple task in the 6 furlongs conditions race at 16.30 CET at Lingfield. Aeroplane (David and Richard Evans) looks the only conceivable danger.

David Evans also has a decent chance in the 6 furlongs handicap at 19.40 at Wolverhampton´s twilight meeting with Vhujon (Paul Hanagan), who has been runner-up three times running and looks sure to be involved under bottom-weight. The conditions race over 8 1/2 furlongs here at 18.40 is also a good race, even with only 6 runners. Top-rated here is Argentinian-bred Balcarce Nov (Tom Tate/ Jamie Spencer).

At Southwell we hope to see Grudge (Ollie Pears/ William Carson) take the selling race for apprentices at 13.50; he was runner-up over this CD last time, which looks the best form in this field. The maiden race at 14.20 can go to Sure Fire (Barney Curley/ Tom Queally), who has an excellent German pedigree. His 3 runs so far were not that great, but he faces weak opposition now and looks capable of considerable improvement. George Baker and Matthew Davies can take the 3yo seller with Bubbly Bellini at 15.20 before rushing off to Wolverhampton, where they have a chance with German-bred bottom-weight Heredias, runner-up over hurdles last time, in the 1 3/4 mile handicap at 17.40.
