All weather action today

Once again, three rather dreary meetings on the all-weather today, and some quite small fields as well, especially at Lingfield and Southwell. Two races at the former track have only 4 runners, including the best event, a 3yo handicap over 10 furlongs at 16.10 CET. This looks very tricky, as all 4 have a chance. Mary Helen (Mark Brisbourne/ Shane Kelly) is the most exposed, but has the best form and ran a good race only on Tuesday.

Captain Cool (Richard Hannon/ David Probert) also ran well last time, while Kathindi (Stan Moore/ Liam Keniry) has been third on all his 4 starts here. However our narrow choice is top-weight Cosimo de Medici (Hughie Morrison/ Patrick Hills), who won nicely last time and may be able to follow up in this better grade.

6 turn out for Southwell´s best race, a 7 furlongs handicap at 16.45, 4 of them last time winners. Moojeh (Marco Botti/ Jerry O´Dwyer) is the least exposed and could be capable of further improvent, while Striker Torres (Bryan Smart/ Tom Eaves) still looks well handicapped. However we go with Elusive Warrior (Alan McCabe/ Declan Carroll), who is in top form and has won twice over this CD in the last 10 days.

There are bigger fields at Wolverhampton´s twilight meeting, with 13 entered in the two best handicaps, over 6 furlongs at 17.20 and over 8 1/2 furlongs at 19.50, both with numerous CD specialists. Smart and vws trl on from Southwell and can possibly take the later race with Inhritor.
