Extra evening fixture at Dundalk

This evening´s meeting on the all-weather at Dundalk (Ireland) is an additional fixture to make up for some of the Irish meetings that have been lost to the weatrher recently. Obviously this is a sensible idea and the pent-up demand is clearly shown by the fact that there are maximum fields (17 declared- 14 run) for all 8 races. The best-bred horse racing today is Jane Eyre (Aidan O´Brien/ Johnny Murtagh) who makes her debut in the fillies maiden over 1 1/2 miles at 21.25 CET. However there is no doubt a reason for the Sadler´s Wells filly out of multiple Group One scorer Albanova making such a belated debut, and possibly Ger Lyons´ Mister Tee in the opening 2yo maiden at 17.55 is a more likely winner for Murtagh, as he has been runner-up his last 4 races and is overdue for a win.

Best race of the evening is the conditions event over 7 furlongs at 20.25, where O´Brien runs two with the stable jockey on Gluteus Maximus, but Dohasa (Ger Lyons/ Keagen Latham) has been running in much better races and his form looks far stronger. The filly Magic Mornings (Mike Halford/ Shane Foley) has been first or second her last 6 starts (including this CD), and although moving up in grade, should not be underestimated.
