Epsom, Chepstow and Kempton (a.w.)

There is also racing this afternoon at Chepstow, with some large fields, and Epsom, and on the all-weather this evening at Kempton, but the racing at all 3 meetings is undistinguished. At Chepstow, Mark Johnston and Jean-Pierre Guillambert can team up to win the two divisions of the 2yo maiden at 14.50 CET and 15,20 with German-bred Lava Lamp and Guest Book respectively. The former is a Shamardal half-brother to Lady Marian. Saeed bin Suroor continues in good form and has runners at 3 tracks today; at Kempton he can win the 2yo maiden at 19.05 with either Golden Shaheen (Ted Durcan) or Saboteur (Ahmed Ajtebi), while Ajtebi also has a good chance on Five Cents at 15.45 at Epsom. Also at Epsom, we expect German-bred Napoletano (Simon Dow/ POat Cosgrave) to run well in the 7 furlongs handicap at 17.30. He has not won for ages, but ran much better over this CD last time out. Otherwise the race for jumps jockeys at 16.20 should be worth watching; CD winners Epsom Salts (Pat Phelan / Sam Thomas) and Inspirina (Richard Ford/ Steven Craine) are our two against the field here.
