Bath and Brighton

After the excitements of the weekend, and with the big Newmarket Cambridgeshire meeting coming up, not to mention the Arc weekend at Longchamp, it is no surprise that today´s racing in the U.K. is very low-key. Indeed all 6 races at Bath this afternoon are class 5 events, while most of the races at Brighton are class 6. Brighton is in any case a very tricky course and it is often best to concentrate on horses with a proven track racord. Therefore in the mile handicap here at 16.50 CET, the "best" race on the card, we expect the winner to come from the group of course specialists: top-weights Choreography (Jim Best/ Silvestre de Sousa), very inconsistent, but his last 4 wins have all been here, and Driven (Amanda Perrett/ Jim Crowley), only career win this CD, Cavendish Road (Willie Muir/ David Probert), 3 of 4 career wins here, and last not last German-bred Napoletano (Simon Dow/ Darryll Holland), who runs his best races here and is our hopeful selection. At Bath, Martin Dwy er looks the jockey to follow; he can land a double for Brian Meehan in the 2yo maidens, at 15.10 on Rakaan and at 16.40 (over the long distance of 10 furlongs) on Duty and Destiny. He also has good prospects with Marcus Tregoning´s Lady Hestia, in the stayers handicap at 16.10, and Meehan´s Chincoteague in the fillies´ maiden at 17.10.
