Irish racing today

Two Irish meetings today, with flat racing at Tipperary and an all-hurdles card at Downpatrick. The best racing is at Tipperary, with two listed races on the card, and Aidan O´Brien clearly wants to win the 2yo race over 7 furlongs at 17.05 CET, as he saddles 3 of the 5 runners. Jockey bookings imply that Viscount Nelson (Johnny Murtagh) is the stable´s number one ahead of Kingdom of Munster (Seamus Heffernan) and the debutant Utrillo (Colm O´Donoghue) but past experience has shown that it does not necessarily work out like that. Th 5 furlongs race at 16.35 can go to the top-weight and also top-rated Snaefell (Mike Halford/ Johnny Murtagh), although he is possibly better over slightly further. A horse that might run well here at a decent price is Augustine Leahy´s Wesaidneveragain in the apprentice handicap at17.35; he will be partnered by Aidan´s teenage son Joseph O´Brien, who has already shown that he possesses the family talent. At Downpatrick there are maximum fields in most races, the exception being the 2 1/4 mile hurdle at 16.25. Wikaala (Gordon Elliott/ Barry Geraghty), the only 4yo in the field, ran well in a hot race at Galways and is the selection in a tricky event.
