Chester and Sandown

There is also UK flat racing this afternoon at Chester and Sandown. Main event at the former track is a 6 furlongs conditions race for 2yo fillies at 16.40 CET. Walk on Water (Henry Cecil/ Tom Queally) won her only start in good style at Ascot a month ago and the form is working out well. She can score here, at the main expense of two much more experienced fillies, Diamond Laura (Ruth Carr/ Silvestre de Sousa) - 9 starts, 4 wins- and Crown (Richard Hannon/ Franny Norton) - 7 starts, 2 wins. At Sandown, the mile handicap at 16.50 looks really difficult with 17 runners. Top-weight Marajaa (Willie Musson/ Chris Catlin), a Goodwood winner last time, Romany Princess (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), hampered last time but a CD winner before and Reel Buddy Star (George Moore/ Jamie Kyne), an easy Newcastle winner, all look dangerous, but the interesting one is the Godolphin runner Bab al Salam (Ted Durcan), who won his only start, a Lingfield maiden 10 months ago, and has not been out since.
