4 meetings this evening

Evening racing under natural light is almost finished for this year, but there are four meetings this evening - Salisbury and Wolverhampton in the UK and Killarney (goes ahead after an inspection) and Kilbeggan in Ireland. The last-named meeting is all N.H. and the maiden hurdle at 19.05 CET should lie between Gratified (Dermot Weld/ Robbie McNamara) and Street Legal (Noel Meade/ Paul Carberry). At Killarney, it will be interesting to see if Johnny Murtagh arrives to ride hot favourite Banyan Tree in the 2yo maiden at 17.50 for Aidan O´Brien, as he is also due to ride in the first race at York. There are also 3 races over hurdles here, and Ruby Walsh can land a double on Grand Opera for Gordon Elliott, in the main event at 19.50, and Huckle Buck Shoe for Willie Mullins in the maiden hurdle half an hour later. Best race this evening is the listed race for 2yo´s over a mile at 19.25 at Salisbury. Here also there are jockeys engaged who are riding at York in the afternoon, notab ly Frankie Dettori, who can take this on Black Snowflake for Godolphin. The dangers are Big Audio (Hannon/ Hughes) and Dreamspeed (Andrew Balding/ William Buick) who can possibly land a nice double for connections after his half-brother Dreameater runs in the listed race at York. There is also very low grade all-weather racing at Wolverhampton, which opens its gates this evening after a summer break, but will be thrilling us all autumn and winter with more of the same.
