Beverley, Salisbury and Yarmouth

Easily the best race today in the U.K. is the listed fillies race over 10 furlongs at 17.05 CET at Salisbury. Consistent Ave (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore) is the likely favourite here, and there are question marks over several of her opponents. Cape Amber (Ralph Beckett/ Seb Sanders) has not run since taking a similar event last September, while Lady Deauville (Roger Curtis/ Cathy Gannon) won this last year, and followed up by winning a group race in Germany, but has been below form in 2009 and has to concede weight all round. Wymering File is unbeaten this season, but is trained in Cyprus and is therefore a totally unknown quantity. Splashdown (Luca Cumani/ William Buick) is trherefore the main danger to the favourite. Frankie Dettori is also in action at Salisbury, but has no ride in th main feature. He partners rwo 2yo´s for Godolphin arlier on th card, Dafeef at 15.30 and Frozen Power half an hour latr, and in vuw of tge excellnt stable form, both must be respected. Ne il Callan looks the jockey to follow at Beverley; he has rides in 6 of the 7 races and it will be disappointing if he fails to ride a winner (or two). Main interest on a poor Yarmouth card will be to see if Sir Mark Prescott´s Point of Light (Chris Catlin) can win his fifth race in the space of 18 days in the 1 1/2 mile handicap for 3yo´s at 18.00. The Pivotal gelding still appears very well handicapped and should complete the fivetimer.
