Galway Festival: day five

the Galway meeting continues today with 7 races in the early evening, 5 of them on the flat and 2 over jumps. The most valuable race is the 1 1/2 mile handicap at 19.50 CET, in which Sesenta (Willie Mullins/ Johnny Murtagh) has top weight. Sesenta, who was runner-up over much further at Royal Ascot, is the class act here but it is not certain that she can give 16 lbs to the lightly-raced filly Casual (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen), winner of a minor race at Killarney last time. Weld and Smullen, leading trainer and jockey at this meeting, also have prospects of winning the 3yo maiden at 20.25 with Sublime Talent and the 1 3/4 mile race an hour later with Universal Truth. Best race over jumps is the handicap chase at 19.15; once again there is a clear top-weight here, Jessica Harrington´s Knight Legend (Andrew Leigh), just beaten by the smart Royal County Star last time, but the weight concssion, in particular the 27lbs given to the consistent Sanglote (E.Griffin/ Paul Townend), may prove to be too much.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Media Queen - What`S New - Billy No Mates
2. Race: Cheval Rouge - Concert Piece - Paydaar
3. Race: Plaisir D`Estruval - Knight Legend - Sanglote
4. Race: Sesenta - Taralga - Casual
5. Race: Sublime Talent - Viceroy Of India - Chebona Bula
6. Race: Reflected Image - Theother Haaf - Cool Athlete
