The remaining 6 races at Epsom are also highly interesting and also extremely difficult to sum up, and anybody winning the jackpot or even the placepot will need to be a near-genius. The only other group race on the card is the Princess Elizabeth Stakes for fillies over an extended mile at 15.25 CET. Spacious (James Fanshawe/ Johnny Murtagh) has not run since October, but her 4th place in last year´s 1,000 Guineas is the best form on offer; However Alnadana (Alain de Royer-Dupré/ Christophe Soumillon) has good recent form and represents a stable always to be feared in Britain. The race title of course refers to the present Queen, who always attends Derby Day (you can bet on the colour of her hat!) and a victory for her History Lesson (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes) in the first race, a 10 furlongs handicap for 3yo´s at 14.25, would raise the roof; however this is a very difficult race with 17 runners and Marching Time (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore) the likely favourite. Th e Hannon stable also has prospects in the second race, a listed event for 2yo´s over 6 furlongs, with 2 runners Desert Auction (Hughes) and Kings Approach (Moore). The Investec Dash over 5 furlongs at 16.00 is always a spectacular event, with 19 runners tearing downhill and up again in a time of around 53 seconds. David Nicholls, Kevin Ryan and Andrew Balding all have good records here and saddle 8 runners between them. We prefer Little Pete (Balding/ Franny Norton), but course specialist Safari Mischief (Peter Winkworth/ Luke Morris), third last year, looks a big danger. After the Derby, there are 2 more valuable handicaps with 17 runners each. Group Captain (Hugh Collingridge/ Robert Kingscote) is a sporting each-way selection over 1 1/2 miles at 17.30, while in the final 6 furlongs race at 18.05, sprint specialist David Nicholls does an O´Brien and saddles 7 runners. We cannot figure out which is the best of them, so suggest that last year´s winner Mac Gill Eoin (Jeff Gal lagher/ Jim Crowley) can follow up.
