Hexham, Market Rasen and Southwell

No flat racing in the U.K. today and three N.H. fixtures, all at a low level not surprisingly after the Grand National meeting. Only 4 runners in the novice chases at 16.10 CET at Southwell and 16.30 at Market Rasen (Backbord is a non-runner), which are in paper the best races of the day and should go to Turkish Surprise (Alan King/ Wayne Hutchinson) and course specialist Seymour Weld (Charlie and Adam Pogson) respectively. Also at the latter track, amateur Alan Berry, whose father is JP Mcmanus´ racing manager, can land a double with debutant Factotoum in the novice hurdle at 15.30 and Ursumman in th hunter chase at 17.30, both traind by Jonjo O´Neill and running in JP´s colours. Risk (Charlie Egerton/ Paddy Brennan) and Best Lover (John Ewart/ Dougie Costello) can take the two divisions of the novice hurdle at Hexham, and the formérs team can also take the novice chase at 16.20 with German-bred Freeze the Flame. Best race here is the handicap hurdle at 16.50, but if Percus sionist (Howard Johnson/ Denis O´Regan) can come back to his best form - he was once fourth in the Derby!- he can take this at the main expense of Flake (Sue Smith/ Tjade Collier).
