Irish racing today

The only flat racing in Britain and Ireland today is at the Curragh, which stages a strong card with a group race and two listed events. Mad About You (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) was just beaten at odds-on over a mile here last time and should find the 7 furlongs of the Gladness Stakes at 16.45 more suitable, especially with first-time blinkers, but Georgebernardshaw (Aidan O´Brien/ Johnny Murtagh) is a big danger, while of the British challengers Lovelace (Mark Johnston/ Jamie Spencer) carries a penalty for winning at Baden-Baden last year but could still be involved. Weld is also running German-bred Liebermann (Smullen) in first time blinkers in the 7 furlongs 3yo race at 15.45, but Gluteus Maximus (O´Brien/ Murtagh) and Vocalised (Jim Bolger / Kevin Manning) could still prove too strong. Fiery Lad (Ger Lyons/ Keagan Latham) was not far behind Quijano last time in Dubai and could go well in the 10 furlongs race at 17.15, where Poet (O´Brien/ Murtagh) and Shes our Mark (Patr ick Flynn(Spencer) look the main dangers. There is also jumps raing at Limerick, where Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh can land a double with Persian City in the novice hurdle at 16.35 and Financial Reward in the main event, a Grade Two novice chase at 17.35.
