German runners at Cagnes-sur-mer

We are still waiting for the first German success at the Cagnes-sur-mer meeting, and three more German-trained runners try their luck today. Werner Baltromei has two runners, both with Dominique Boeuf aboard, Escargot in a race over 2150 metres for unraced 3yo´s at 14.50 and Alpe d´Huez in a 1500 metres handicap at 15.50. However in view of the poor form so far shown by the Baltromei runners, the best hope of a German winner is probably Pavel Vovcenko´s Naranja (Jerome Claudic), who runs in the 2100 metres claiming race for apprentices at 15.20. These three races will all be run on the turf track.
