N.H. racing at Kelso, Naas and Sandown

there is also jumps racing today at Kelso in Scotland, Naas in Ireland and Sandown near London, and it is possibly significant that two top jockeys, Tony McCoy and Richard Johnson, are in action today at Sandown rather than at Wincanton´s big meeting. They go head to head in several races, notably the 2 mile beginners chase at14.20 CET where McCoy partners Free World for Paul Nicholls and Johnson Planet of Sound for Philip Hobbs. They are the two favourites here, but beware of Cahrlie Mann´s German-bred Gauvain, who ran much better last time than the final placing indicated. The 3 mile handicap chase at 16.35 should lie between Seymar Lad (Emma Lavelle/ McCoy), winner of his last 3 races, and Rackalackay (Henry Daly/ Johnson). At Kelso, a lady trainer should win the 2 3/3 mile handicap chase at 15.10, as top-weight More Likely (Mrs. Tullie/ Peter Buchanan), Darina Boy (Sue Smith/ Shane Byrne) and Getingbybutonlyjust (Fianne Sayer/ Fearghal Davies) are the three obvious candid ates. Major Malarkey (Nigel Twiston-Davies/ David England) shouldtake the handicap hurdle over te same trfip half an hour later after his good recent comeback at Aintree. At Naas the main event is a 4yo listed hurdle at 14.45, with several up-and-coming types engaged. Beau Michael (Adrian McGuinness/ Davy Russell), River Liane (Thomas Cooper/ Niall Madden), Silverhand (Noel Meade/ Paul Carberry) and the filly Western Rose (Adrian Maguire/ Paddy Flood) have the best credentials here
