Paul Nicholls and Ruby Walsh at Wincanton

Paul Nicholls is always the trainer to follow at Wincanton, his local track, especially when Ruby Walsh partners his runners, and the duo are strongly represented today, one of Wincanton´s best cards of the season. They can take the opening novice hurdle at 13.40 CET with Tchico Polos, although Nicky Henderson´s debutant Ravello Bay (Barry Geraghty) looks dangerous in receipt of 19 lbs. They can continue with top-weight Oracle des Mottes in the handicap chase at 14.10 and Breedsbreeze in the Grade Two novice chase at 15.20, where Ring the Boss (Philip Hobbs/ Tom O´Brien) is the danger. The main feature is the Elite Hurdle at 15.50, now a limited handicap, with champion hurdler Katchit (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) attempting to give lumps of weight to some useful performers, such as Blythe Knight (John Quinn/ Dougie Costello) and Takeroc (Nicholls/ Walsh). Nicholls has 2 runners in thr Badger Ales Trophy over 3 mles 1 furlong at 16.25, Leading Attraction (Walsh) and Cornish S ett (Nick Scholfield) but bottom-weight Island Light (Tom George/ Paddy Brennan) looks a big threat here after finishing last season with 3 easy wins.
