N.H. racing at Exeter, Lingfield and Sedgefield

There is jumps racing today in the U.K. at three tracks, and while the going is good to soft atr Sedgefield, it is very testing at Exeter and Lingfield, both of which had to survive an early morning inspection. Punters are advised to check for non-runners, but the fields at Exeter are in any case quite small and it looks very much like another bonanza for the all-conquering team of trainer Paul Nicholls and jockey Ruby Walsh. Inchidaly Rock in the novice hurdle at 14.40 CET, Nevada Royale in the 3 mile novice chase an hour later, and Chapoturgeon in the b eginners chase at 16.10 are all expected to go on to better things, amd although there is decent opposition in these events, they can score today. Nicholls can also be on the scorecard at Lingfield, where Charity Lane (Nick Scholfield), though probably not one of the stable stars, can win the novice hurdle at 15.00; In Vino (Alan King/ Gerald Tumelty), another debutant over hurdles, is the obvious danger. At Sedgefield, the maiden chase at 14.50 looks between Banoge (Len Lungo/ Wilson renwick) and Gentle Ranger (David Pipe/ Tom Scudamore), while the 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle half an hour later looks the trickiest race of the day. Theatre Belle (Chris Grant/ Colin Gillies), who has already won 4 races in 2008, including this CD twice, Leac an Scail (Sue Smith/ Mr. AE Kinirons), 3rd of 18 under this jockey at Aintree last time, and Gunner Jack, for the in-form team of Nicky Richards and Davy Condon, are 3 for the short list.
