Market Rasen abandoned

today´s N.H. meeting at Market Rasen has been abandoned, as much of the track is under water following this week´s heavy rain. The two remaining British meetings, jumps racing at Hereford and a.w. flat racing at Kempton, are very modest indeed. Most of the card at Kempton is taken up with class 6 handicaps, possibly the most interesting race there is the mile maiden event for 2yo fillies at 17.30 CET. Greenisland (Hughie Morison/ Robert Havlin) is the form choice here, having twice finished third, but Leelu (David Arbuthnot/ Dane O´Neill) and Colangnik (John Best/ Steve Drowne) both shaped like future winners last time out. At hereford, Nicky Hemderson can land adouble in the tw opening races, with ex-Frech Giorgio Quercus (Tony McCpoy) in the 3yo hurdle at 14.10 and the Queen´s Midsummer Magic (Andrew Tinkler) in the maiden hurdle half an hour later.
